2019 Lincoln MKC Model Year Changes

The Lincoln MKC received a midcycle refresh, and the largest change is quite apparent. Lincoln is slowly working to update the front-ends on their new Lincoln lineup. Instead of the split "waterfall" grille of the past, the Lincoln MKC now has the same grille as the Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Continental. We think this is a welcome changeup and that you'll make a bold statement to oncoming traffic as you drive around Waynesboro.

Another change worth noting is that forward collision warning now has pedestrian detection. This will be especially useful if you're driving in downtown Hagerstown which is an area that sees a lot of foot traffic.

All trims - the Base, Select, and Reserve - have a standard 2.0L turbocharged engine with 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft torque. If you're a driver who wants a little more excitement as you commute from Greencastle into the office then you'll want to get the Reserve trim. Aside from having a greater lineup of standard amenities, the Reserve can also get a 2.3L engine with 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft torque. When properly equipped, this trim and engine pairing can tow up 3,000 pounds.

Convenience Technology

This is a great time in automotive history to own a vehicle. Cars these days have so much useful technology onboard, and Lincoln made sure that the Lincoln MKC would be well-equipped. Even on the Base model you'll get SYNC®3. The responsive touchscreen offers up many apps, including Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ capabilities. In fact, with Android Auto™ you can speak to Alexa and get news updates, add an item to your Amazon list before you forget, and even control your home's lights and temperature.

Another easily overlooked technology we want to focus on is seating. The Lincoln MKC comes with a standard Comfort Seat that has leather upholstery. The driver can power-adjust the seat 12-ways and 4-ways for the lumbar. The passenger has a 6-way power adjustable seat. While this feature might seem inconsequential, if you're someone who spends a lot of time behind the wheel then you know how important a comfortable and ergonomic seating position is!

Safety Features

We previously touched on the available forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, but there are more advanced safety technologies to be found on the Lincoln MKC.

  • The lane keeping system can tell if you're drifting out of your lane and sends subtle steering wheel vibrations
  • There's blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert for vehicle's just out of eyesight
  • A rearview camera is standard
  • Automatic emergency braking also comes with the forward collision warning and it applies the brakes if you don't or cannot
  • LED lights provide better visibility
  • We love the helpful smart cruise control and parking assist technology

These features are never a replacement for proper and safe driving habits, but we're only human so it's great that Lincoln provides these technologies so we can avoid collisions. Whether you're driving at lower speeds in Carlisle or going 70 mph on the highway, you'll have added peace of mind.
